Mary Jane Burt

A resident of Hamden, Mary Jane received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in politics from Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York (now a part of Fordham University) and her Masters of Science in finance from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven.

Prior to Joining the H. Pearce Company in 2002, Mary Jane served as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for The National Development Council in Washington D.C.; President of Burt Medical Laboratory, the state’s largest family owned clinical laboratory, for 15 years and she is a Principal and Partner of The Laurel Group.

A former member of the Board of Directors for The Foote School, former Chair of the Friends of the Children’s Hospital at YNHH, the American Association of Bioanalyst.

Member of The Progress Council for the State of Connecticut, and the Advisory Board at Quinnipiac College School of Business. Mary Jane also served as a Board Member of Albertus Magnus College for twelve years.

Her many professional business boards include: Founding Chair of the Council For Women’s Health Research at Yale, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, and Birmingham Utilities, Inc. Mary Jane is also an Associate Fellow of Calhoun College at Yale.

Currently, Mary Jane serves on the board of Schooner Inc. (www.schoonerinc.org), an educational organization dedicated to preserving Long Island Sound.

Among Mary Jane's many awards and designations, she was recognized by the American Association of Clinical Chemists as one of the country’s Persons of the Year.

Received the Volunteer Excellence Award for Easter Seals Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center, the Hearts of the Community Award at Sacred Heart Academy, and Hall of Fame recipient for Junior Achievement.

Mary Jane has distinguished herself as a residential real estate associate from the start – marking her first year in office as Rookie of the Year – she was the first Rookie to make it to the Top 5 Overall Company Performers.

In fact, she ended the year as #3—and, the first Rookie to earn a six figure salary in the 50 year history of the company.
